The technical methodology analyses the entire market based on historical data of both individual stocks and the market as a whole. Unlike the fundamental approach, technicians doubt not only in the ability of fundamental analysts to forecast earnings or asset values correctly, but also of any relation between these lasts and the price of a stock.

Technical analysts look at price, volume or any numbers of factors that enable them to determine if a stock is overbought or oversold. The technical analyst will mainly base his decision process on the chart pattern of different indicators.
