COVARIANCE

The covariance is the stating point of the correlation. The covariance is used to determine the relationship between two data sets.

The formula is:

The unbiased formula is (for a sample):

with

x = the mean of data X.

y = the mean of data Y.

N = the population size.

n = the sample size.
